V&T Pet Clinic offers a Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) for people who have Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Nevada Check Up or are on Unemployment.

You will be required to provide proof of qualifications the first time you visit us.

New clients are required to fill out client registration forms prior to surgery appointment.

All SNAP procedures must be prepaid.

There is no age limit on SNAP spays and neuters, but pets over 2 years old will be required to have blood work and IV Cath and fluids.

SNAP spays and neuters include a limited exam as part of the procedure. Also included is an injection of a long-acting antibiotic.

All pets are required to have a Rabies Vaccination as required by state law. If you do not have proof of vaccination, V&T can give your pet one for $10 at the time of the procedure.

We offer low-cost vaccination clinics once a month.

Based on your pets exam additional services may be recommended. A treatment plan will be given to you with those additional services listed with their costs. You may accept or decline the treatment plan. If you decline the treatment plan you may be asked to sign an Against Medical Advice form.

Spay deposits include the In Heat, Overweight, Over 2 years old charge of $55. That will be refunded if the spay is normal. Dogs and cats that are pregnant or have uterine infections will require a regular work up.

We offer our own low-cost spay/neuter clinic for dogs and cats open to the public.

The cost to spay/neuter an animal is $55-$80 dependent on weight. Every animal must be vaccinated in order to get altered. A copy of vaccination records must be provided. If the owner does not have these records, we require vaccinations for Distemper, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, and Hepatitis (DHPP), Rabies, and Bordetella (canine cough) for $15 each.

We also recommend that the owner have blood work done on their pet to detect for unknown pre-existing conditions, and this service costs just $30. We also offer microchipping for $15, and IV fluids during surgery for $20.

Feline Rescue of Northern Nevada (FRONN)

No income or geographic restrictions.

FRONN offers a spay and neuter voucher program for cats only. A maximum of three vouchers are available per household per year. 

A limited number of vouchers are available each week based on the amount of donations that are received by Feline Rescue of Northern Nevada (FRONN).

The co-payment due at the time of voucher pick-up is currently $25.00 but is subject to change. This co-payment is non-refundable.

Spay and neuter is done through ABC Vet Clinic at 775-358-6211. An appointment must be made as soon as possible after receiving the voucher from FRONN.

Cats are required to be current on their FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations. If they are not current or do not have vaccination records, the vaccinations will be done at the time of the appointment at no additional charge.
